Berberis vulgaris is also known as European barberry, it is a shrub in the family Berberidaceae that grows wild in Europe, northwest Africa, and western Asia. It has been used in Chinese medicine in treating endometriosis.

1. Liver enhancer
Berberies vugaries is liver tonic that strengthens the liver’s function in regulating the production of bile leading to hormone balancing of the family of the prostaglandins and inhibiting the over-production of bad estrogen, resulting in lessening the cramps caused by overactive uterine muscle and tension of nervous system accordingly.
It is diuretic that helps the kidney’s function in getting the body’s waste through to the urine. Working together with vitamin C (which is abundant in the plant), it helps to strengthen the immune system’s fight against foreign invasion such as bacteria, virus, and forming of endometrial implants and adhesion.
3. Enhance normal cell growth
Berberies vugaris is also said to help in enhancing the normal cell growth that is essential for women with endometriosis to avoid the endometrial implants and adhesion becoming cancerous.

Vitamin C in the berberis vugaris helps to make the capillary more elastic which lessens the heavy blood flow during menstruation.
