Donald Trump is preparing to go on vacation, and he’ll be spending the majority of August GOLFING in New Jersey.
The Federal Aviation Administration has imposed a temporary flight restrictionaround Bedminster, NJ, from Aug. 3 – 20.
Donald Trump owns the Trump International Golf Club in Bedminster. These types of restrictions have been the precursor to his previous trips to the area.
While Trump has become the vacationer-in-chief, or the golfer-in-chief, it is not unusual for presidents to leave the nation’s capitol in August. President Obama and his family used to vacation at Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
Bedminster has also received a designation by the Secret Service so it can be reimbursed by the federal government for security costs. New Jersey Republican Rep. Leonard Lance announced Wednesday the town has been designated a priority for presidential protection.
Bedminster is one of the few golf clubs in the Trump family business that Trump built from the ground up instead of purchasing and refurbishing. He reportedly holds a special affinity for it. Prior it was the home of disgraced carmaker John DeLorean.
The government has made $41 million available to cover costs incurred between Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration and Oct. 1. Trump’s residences in New York and Florida have similar designations.
