Saturday Night Live alum Taran Killam appeared on the comedy show in 2015 with now-President Donald Trump.
He was not impressed.
In fact, according to a recent interview in Brooklyn Magazine, when Trump tried his hand at the table read, he struggled…a lot.
“The president is a moron,” Killam bluntly said.
He continued on: “He was … everything you see. What you see is what you get with him, really…I mean, there was no big reveal. He struggled to read at the table read, which did not give many of us great confidence. Didn’t get the jokes, really. He’s just a man who seems to be powered by bluster.”
Fellow SNL alum Pete Davidson also said the same thing about Trump to Opie Radio in November 2015.
“So he doesn’t really know how to read. For real,” Davidson said. “And he loves to improv. So during the table read, he like — before he had to read each line, and he’s the host so he’s in everything — he would go, ‘I’m not gonna say this. I’m gonna say this the way I’m gonna say this. Is that okay, Lorne?’ And everybody’s like, ‘What?’”
For his part, despite appearing on the show with Killam and Davidson in the past, Trump doesn’t think SNL is funny anymore either.
“@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!,” Trump wrote in January, just days before taking office.
