The Simpsons just a scathing portrayal of Donald Trump’s “First 100 Days In Office” that makes even Homer Simpson look competent.
The cartoon hits Trump from every angle, starting with those closest to him – Sean Spicer has hung himself and Kellyanne Conway goes running for the hills – before settling on the President himself.
“One hundred days in office, so many accomplishments, what with my golf handicap, my Twitter following increased by 700, and finally, we can shoot hibernating bears. My boys will love that.”
Focus then shifts to Ivanka Trump, the President’s daughter, who will assume Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s seat on the Supreme Court. Ivanka enters modeling her robe “with gavel earings,” all of which, of course, is for sale– a steal at only 1,000 rubles.
The focus shifts back to the Simpsons, whom we learn had been watching Trump’s catastrophic Presidency on their television. Marge takes a Prozac, her last pill, about which she gripes, “This was supposed to last me the whole four years!”
Finally, at the end of sketch, the narrator announces:
“100 days. We are 6.8 percent of the way home. Paid for by anybody else 2020.”
While usually outlandish, the Simpsons are a pretty accurate mirror for American society today. The difference, of course, is that we knew we would need more Prozac beforehand.
