Eric Trump Under Investigation For Stealing Donations From Kids With Cancer

While President Trump heads for legal trouble in the White House, Eric Trump is doing so in the private sector. Forbes recently reported that Eric Trump Foundation moved money raised to help children with cancer to his father’s company. As he did, he charged fees for the use of the golf course for charity events.
And the lies don’t end there. Though the website claims that the Eric Trump Foundation has raised more than $16.3 Million for the Memphis’s St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, it has redirected at least $500,000 to other charities, “many of which were connected to Trump family members or interests, including at least four groups that subsequently paid to hold golf tournaments at Trump courses.”
Now, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is looking into why Eric’s organization paid over $1 million to use Trump’s properties for charity fundraising events—especially since Eric bragged to donors that they were using the Trump sites for free.”We are looking into issues at the foundation raised by the report,” Eric Soufer, a spokesman for the attorney general’s office, said.
This is not the first time Schneiderman had to “look into” a Trump charity. Last October, the Donald Trump Foundation had to stop accepting donations in New York after being issued a cease-and-desist order. With this charity still under investigation, Eric Trump is playing ball for New York’s top cop. “The foundation intends to cooperate fully with the attorney general’s review, and looks forward to a productive and open dialogue with the attorney general’s Office to address any questions it may have,” a spokesperson for Eric Trump said Friday.
Eric did shoot back on Forbes on Twitter, saying “Unfortunately, the only people who lose are sick kids receiving millions a year. In 2016 that was $3,600,310.00 to be exact.” He’s right in this. The kids are losing, but whether because of the Forbes article causing an investigation, or the fact that the donations were supposed to be more than what Eric claimed, Eric’s decision have cost funding to help children with cancer.
