Ivanka Trump’s Ski Trip Racks Up Over $66k in Secret Service Costs

Earlier this month, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner reportedly took their children on a ski trip to the Four Seasons Resort and Residences in Whistler, British Columbia. NBC News reports that their trip racked up over $66k in Secret Service costs, which included $59,654 in hotel expenses and $6,884 for “multi-day ski passes.”
Incidentally, this is not the first expensive ski trip that has raised eyebrows. Last month, NBC News also reported that the Secret Service had made a $12k purchase order to the Aspen Valley Ski/Snowboard Club for “recreational good rental/ski equipment lease” in anticipation of a visit from Donald Trump Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and their families. Additionally, Secret Service officials reportedly met with members of the Aspen Police Department about the planned visit.

Earlier this year, Eric Trump took a business trip to Uruguay, resulting in a bill of almost $100k in hotel rooms for Secret Service and embassy staff. A month later, Eric, Donald Jr. and Tiffany Trump traveled to Vancouver on a business trip, which accrued over $53k in hotel bills. And there has been a great deal of criticism surrounding First Lady Melania Trump’s decision to live in New York City, as it costs the New York Police Department between $127,000 and $146,000 per day to protect Trump Tower. Some of these trips have raised questions about conflict of interest, with the claim that taxpayers’ dollars are being used to support Trump’s business holdings in other countries.
