Jimmy Kimmel’s doctor breaks his silence, DESTROYS Trumpcare with 5 powerful words.

Jimmy Kimmel’s doctor breaks his silence, DESTROYS Trumpcare with 5 powerful words.

Dr. Evan Zahn has many years of experience in the medical field, during which time he treated newborn babies with congenital heart diseases. One baby he recently treated was Jimmy Kimmel’s son who needed surgery to save his life within a few days of his birth.

With the passage of Trumpcare in the House on Thursday, healthcare issues are in the spotlight. Zahn spoke out against the Republican healthcare act and let everyone know what is really at stake for children with congenital heart defects.
According to Zahn, there is a “real issue” with how these babies are treated later in life under Trumpcare. Once they are no longer under their parents’ insurance and they have to secure coverage for themselves, they will face difficulties under the new healthcare bill.
They would then be classified as adults with pre-existing conditions that would disqualify them from
getting insurance on the individual market, forcing them into unaffordable high-risk pools.

“The minute they’d come off their parents’ insurance, before the Affordable Care Act, we’d have an incredibly hard time getting our patients insurance. Which is insane, I mean, what kind of country would think that’s OK … We invest millions of dollars in these patients, as a society, to get them to survive … Then they survive, which is what we want them to do, and they can’t have healthcare? It makes zero logical sense,” Zahn said.

Zahn praised Obamacare, stating that it brought about positive change and that it was “wonderful for our patients.” Trumpcare, on the other hand, would undo all this positivity and, according to Zahn, have a “profound negative effect” on his patients.

Zahn points out the hypocrisy of the Republicans to argue for the protection of a fetus and not extend protection to a baby born with a heart defect. Zahn, the director of the Guerin Family Congenital Heart Program at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, worries that the Republican healthcare bill will cut funding for research into lifesaving procedures.

He also expressed his concern with the deadlines that parents of these children will face. Knowing that once the child is no longer covered under their insurance and that coverage for the necessary surgery would then be unaffordable, parents will be forced to rush children into surgery even if it would be better, medically speaking, to wait.

Jimmy Kimmel shared his story with the public on television, telling everyone about his son’s condition and treatment. Zahn remarked on what a genuine, nice person Kimmel is, but noted that the reality of healthcare for these children with congenital heart defects “is a little different than what everybody heard on TV the other night.”

We hope this doesn’t ruin his career.

Zahn added, “I think we’re going to go back to a system where, in this country, which I believe is the greatest country in the world, but not when it comes to healthcare… we’ll have tens of millions of people who are not insured. Which is not OK.”

rumpcare would deny coverage to people with preexisting conditions such as these babies born with congenital heart disease. Facing the threat of unaffordable coverage after aging out of their parents’ insurance, they may rush to get surgery before the ideal time. With their placement in high-risk pools, they may also have to wait months before receiving necessary treatment.

Vote in the poll if you do not support a healthcare plan that harms babies.

It all comes down to the question of, as Zahn phrased it, “what we think the value of human life is.” Share this post on Facebook to speak out against Trumpcare and spread the truth that all life is valuable.
